Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get a tooling quote?

Parts can be submitted for quoting by following the link to our RFQ page, fax, or email. Turnaround for quotes is usually 24-48 hours. This can be longer depending upon volume of quotes being generated at that time and the complexity of the part.

What is your preferred file format?

We can use native files directly from SolidWorks, Pro/Engineer, and AutoCAD. For file transfers we also use STEP, IGES, and parasolid (.x_t). These work the best for us to import our customer’s data if we cannot work with it in its native file format. There are also many other file formats from which we can import data. Feel free to contact us if one of the above options does not work correctly for you.

What is your production schedule?

We run 24 hours a day, 5 days a week.

What are the standard terms for your tooling quotes?

Our standard terms are 1/3 down with purchase order, 1/3 due upon delivery of mold, and 1/3 down (final) within 30 days following purchaser’s receipt of mold, unless PTC receives a rejection notice from the purchaser within the 30-day post-delivery period.

Where are you located?

We are located in northeastern South Dakota. We are roughly 5 hours drive west of the Minneapolis / St. Paul area.

Do you have adequate shipping connections to assure prompt delivery?

Lakeville Motor Express is our preferred regional shipper. They are able to provide us same day delivery for Minnesota, Northern Iowa, and Western Wisconsin. We can also provide service via FedEx Freight, Con-Way, Cross Country, and Roadway for national coverage.

How are delivery dates calculated?

Delivery dates are figured from when we receive the customer’s final prints and shrink rate.
